This page discusses class management, not classroom management. You should understand the basic principles so they are not used against you. Here are some tips:
Class management--class envy-- is a standard tool used to manipulate the ignorant. Subtle--sometimes obvious--techniques are used on the uninformed people to create classes of ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ ripe for ‘change’ that only politicians can provide through Marxist revolution. The people = useful Id
Class Envy is based on selfish envy and won’t work without it . Envy is a trap, like cheese in a mousetrap. Jealousy can be good--even God is jealous, we are told. Jealousy is about righteous protection of one’s own legitimate possessions. Envy wants something that belongs to another--wealth, position, an attractive spouse, whatever. Learn to recognize when people with agendas are trying to push those buttons--we all have them.
Here are 3 hot-button lusts to watch for, plus a fourth major red flag: The hot-buttons are used constantly by not only those with political agendas--most advertising agencies, with one notable exception also constantly use them.
Lust of the flesh -- craving for sensual gratification] Lust of the eyes -- [greedy longings of the mind] Lust of the pride of life -- [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things]
The major red flag: Beware programs that are claimed to be a safety net, yet never bounce people back up onto their feet into healthy behavior and productive lives. If the program is spawning third-generation single-parent welfare families and subsidizing squalor instead of actually lifting people out of it, you have a program that is not accomplishing its stated reason for existence--either by design or incompetence.
* (if you’re a urban teacher, have you done any home visits lately?).
* if you are now or ever been down and out and had some social program create a REAL opportunity created for you, a REAL door opened, GREAT. If you’re in a program now, remember that when you DO get back on your feet, the job security of your your Case Worker might just go down. Bravo to all the wonderful, conscientious Case Workers who really do help people get back on their feet. Shame on those who never provide the help they need. And shame on those Clients who 'game’ the system and take selfish advantage.
Learn to be at peace with what you have, yet strive to do better. Do what you can...with what you have...right where you are. Find a legitimate need and fill it. Go the second mile Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
And as was said to one--and to all of us-- ”Go and sin no more.”
