To prepare a lesson plan about Islam,

Vocabulary Terms should include:
Akhoura, Dhimmi, Taquiyya, Caliphate, fatwah, hudna, Great Satan, 9-11, World Trade Center, Madrassas, Mosque, burqua, Ummah, Halal, jizya, jihad, haribah, Sharia Law, terrorism, suicide bombing, Flight 93, hudna, kitman, Da’wa, honor killing, female circumcision.

NOTE: Students may need supervision, especially during image searches, because of the blood and violence.

Arabic terms of special importance:
“Jihad,” “jihadist,” and “mujahedeen” are often misunderstood in the West.  The terms seduce impressionable youths into the myth of eternal glory and orgies in Paradise, by becoming Islamic extremists willing to hijack airliners or strap bombs to young men--children--even the mentally handicapped--for terrorism.  This is not glorious a death--this is shameful, child abuse, murder.  A more appropriate Arabic term is Haribah, which means despicable and deserving of contempt and condemnation.  According to some reports, moderate Muslims are generally not in approval of such extremism.  Hopefully they will speak out and help end extremism and be peaceful world neighbors.

Sha'ria or sharia - You want separation of church and state?  This isn’t it.

Hudna - a temporary retreat or ‘peace.’ treaty.  There is never a real treaty and peace.

Da’wa - an invitation to Islam.  Often an overt threat sometimes at the point of a scimitar.  Can also take the form of an economic threat such as oil production and pricing.

Taquiyya and kitman -- unfortunately, these allow for hypocrisy and lying to advance Islam.

Dhimmi -- Westerners who believe Islam ‘extremism’ is not a threat. Often refers to those who may advocate it to their own detriment.

Below is a Tee-shirt that sums up the way women and homosexuals are often treated under Sharia law.  Women are property, just like the slavery that the United States so regrets as part of our past.

FACT: Mohammed married a child of grade-school age and consummated the marriage physically when she was only 9 years old.

FACT: You DO NOT want Sharia law in America.  It is extremely abusive to women. It’s already a plague in England and being used to bully other faiths there and elsewhere--it’s just like a thousand years ago during the Crusades.

FACT: Barack Obama was registered during his school years as a Muslim, he said he would take sides with the Muslims.  You do not want people like Obama making decisions that affect you.  Where was Mr. Obama after 9-11?  His friend Bill Ayers had plenty to say.--LINK
