There is some extremely important law that affects every teacher. It’s often referred to as Right To Work (RTW) law.
RTW is the deciding factor whether you have to join a union and pay dues in your state. Many states are not under the thumb of the teacher unions. Overall quality of life in those states--and specifically teacher job satisfaction and corporal punishment options in many of those same states for classroom discipline--make a huge case for getting rid of all teacher unions. Unions have also long opposed well-deserved merit pay for the best teachers using every possible excuse to hold down your pay to the level of the mediocre--and you know who they are.
If your state is not at present a RTW state, you can help make it one. It can be done within a very few months.
It must be done. Just look at the kinds of issues teacher unions are involved in that have NOTHING to do with teacher salaries, unsafe working conditions or the true best interests of children. Can you support such? Your community is interested--VERY interested--in providing for your job and retirement security--free from the evils of today’s mostly anti-family, anti-child teacher unions. Sign up for our free newsletter (with a non-school email!) for more information soon.
In a right-to-work state, you take home more of your check and enjoy your job more, without the Big Brother, Big Labor telling you how to vote, think and teach.
Meanwhile, opt out of giving your union another dime for its lobbying and political war chest against all that is good, right and true.
